My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights, in one of the more economical rooms, which (and I'm being honest) was a bit smaller than we're used to, but provided more amenities for us than anything back home. Hairbrushes, toothbrushes, tea, teacups and a hotpot, Yukatas, Slippers, razors and more. The staff is very attentive and polite. Most of the staff speaks English, but will also humor you if you want to practice your Japanese. The location is excellent! It's right by the train station, and there are a lot of cute cafes, restaurants and shops around the corner. The only thing I will suggest is not to eat in the hotel unless you have money to burn. I spent * yen (roughly * dollars) on a small cup of coffee. The food in the hotel is extremely expensive, and to be honest, it wasn't anything amazing (it wasn't bad, it just wasn't up to it's price tag). There are so many excellent food choices in Ikebukuro, I would just go out and find something there. They do have A LOT of restaurants in the hotel as well, offering a myriad of choices... and they have little boutiques and a pretty reasonable souvenir shop on the ground floor.

Not a bad location, next to Ikekoburo JR line subway station. Hotel is pretty, but tired and nickels and dimes guests to pieces. I know that Tokyo does that anyway, but you have to pay for 5 min in business center pc, health club is $/day; pool is only a lap pool and can't be used by kids (one of the reasons that I booked the hotel.) Hotel staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and has the very infectious politeness. Overall, I'd not recommend this because I think that they weren't truthful in the writeup.

Loved the hotel. Updated rooms that are very clean and reasonably spacious. Bathroom comes with one of them 'high-tech' japanese toilets. Lots of eateries around. The hotel is very close to Ikebokuru station which is a major hub. But I feel that Shinjuku and Roppongi Hills are better locations for tourists to be based out of.

The Crowne Plaza Metropolitan Hotel is in a great spot. It is right by the Ikebukuro Station which is on the Yamanote line. It is not far from Sunshine City and other touristy places. Also, there are places to eat within walking distance. The service was fantastic - so polite and accomodating. Although the rooms were tiny, I would definitely return.
